Just a tiny tip of Colorado

We traveled through just a little tiny bit of the southwestern corner of Colorado last week from Hovenweep Monument in Utah back to New Mexico to Shiprock.

Got just a few pictures - the wind was pretty high and sand was blowing all over. But there were some pretty rock formations along the way.

The Four Corners area of the United States

Way out in the remote corner of northwestern New Mexico is the area known as the Four Corners, where New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah all meet at one point.

There's not much out there except a marker on the spot - where tourists go and get a picture of themselves straddling all four states. The Four Corners marker is closed right now for some renovation at the site, so we did not go there on April 28 when we were in the area.

But we WERE in all four states within an hour.

And we visited Neec Nos Pos, a Navajo Trading Post just across the border in Arizona, and we saw some desolate but starkly beautiful country, which is mostly all Navajo and Ute land.
