Hey...open up!
"I think that New Mexico was the greatest experience from the outside world that I ever had. It certainly changed me forever ... The moment I saw the brilliant proud morning (sun) shine high up over the deserts of Santa Fe, something stood still in my soul." ~D.H. Lawrence

Dogs in the snow
John just measured 10 1/2 inches of snow in our front yard. Some of it is from the past week, and probably 5 - 6 inches of it is new in the last 24 hours.
Starman and sugar LOVE jumping and running ... and even rolling ... in the fresh snow.
It is hard to get pictures of two white dogs running around in the snow, but these are the results of my effort:

Sugar ... ready to go inside.

New Year's Day up in the Sangres
We took a drive up into the Sangre de Cristo Mountains above Santa Fe yesterday.
There was a lot of snow up near the Ski Area and we had fun walking around a little bit:

This is a bad quality picture, but I included it because I like it a lot.

Early signs of spring in Eldorado
Yesterday was the first day of spring, and there are signs of its arrival in our yard.
Perennials getting green again. Bushes and trees beginning to get buds. Lots of nice sun, many birds at our feeders.
Here are two of our first bushes that are showing new leaves:
I don't know what this little bush is, but it has pretty little compact green leaves:

Forsythia bush just beginning to bloom in our front courtyard:

The dogs enjoy a warm morning on the front portal:

Sugar exploring in the back yard:
