"I think that New Mexico was the greatest experience from the outside world that I ever had. It certainly changed me forever ... The moment I saw the brilliant proud morning (sun) shine high up over the deserts of Santa Fe, something stood still in my soul." ~D.H. Lawrence

Santa's Workshop / North Pole, Colorado
High up on the mountain road on the way to Pike's Peak in Colorado Springs is Santa's Workshop at the North Pole, Colorado. Since our days last week were about entertaining a five-year old, we decided this would be a fun place to go to.
The downside? Santa's Village is primarily an amusement part, with a very expensive admission price, and attempts inside the park to get you to part with lots of cash.
The upside? Our grand-daughter loved the rides and the animals, and she even got to see Santa in his little house.
And it was a simply gorgeous day - a wonderful time to be outdoors in the bracing mountain air.
