We arrived home last night six hours later than expected due to flight delays and a missed flight on the East Coast. Then our flight from Baltimore to ABQ was a turbulent ride for the entire four hours. I am a white knuckle flier, and I was terrified until I saw the landscape of New Mexico below me.
If some of you have never flown over New Mexico, it is QUITE A SIGHT from the sky. Looks just like a topographical map.
It was great to land at the ABQ Sunport at 6:30 p.m. and it really felt good to get home to Santa Fe and our mountains an hour later.
(I BORROWED THE PICTURE OF THE SUNPORT FROM THE ALBUQUERQUE OFFICIAL WEBSITE.)
Got several days of catching up to do. Seeing all the family members and catching up with some friends was just wonderful for a week. Returning home is good, too.
"I think that New Mexico was the greatest experience from the outside world that I ever had. It certainly changed me forever ... The moment I saw the brilliant proud morning (sun) shine high up over the deserts of Santa Fe, something stood still in my soul." ~D.H. Lawrence

Oh lordy! Bobcat Bite!
John has been to Bobcate Bite before, but today was my first visit ever for one of their famed Green Chile Cheeseburgers. Wow! They do live up to their reputation! I would have liked the chile a little hotter, but other than that, the hamburger was awesome.

Heat wave
This past week we have had a heat wave in Santa Fe compared to our usual mild summer weather. It's been hovering around 90 - 95 every day. They tell us this happens for a week or two every summer, so I hope this is IT and then we get back to some cooler days and nights.
Luckily the humidity is lower than all the other places I have ever lived, and I wouldn't complain at all except we don't have any air conditioner or swamp cooler in this house so we rely on fans to move the air around and blinds to block the hot sun.

Rejoicing over good news
We heard not too long ago that we are going to have another grandchild at the beginning of December. Then just several days ago my daughter had a sonogram and the baby is a BOY. A healthy boy, progressing normally.
So -- this will be the first male grandchild, Victoria is going to have a baby brother and is thrilled, and here in Santa Fe, I will be busy doing some knitting projects in the next five months!
