Russian Sage!

We went away for a week on vacation, and returned to find the Russian Sage in our front yard in full bloom.

It's one of my favorite summer flowers - it will be in bloom now for the rest of the summer. It makes my yard a happy place.

Summer scenes at the Plaza in Santa Fe

Summer season is well underway at the Santa Fe Plaza, with interesting scenes, lots of tourists, vendors selling jewelry and food, lots of enticing smells.

We were at the Plaza several times this past week with family visitors from out of town. Here are some of the sights:

Wednesday at the Cathedral

We were in downtown Santa Fe at the Plaza yesterday with John's cousin. Here are a few pictures we got of statues at St. Francis Cathedral Basilica:

The first two statues are St. Francis, patron saint of the cathedral:

Eldorado's First Annual Car Show

On July 4th, at La Tienda parking lot in Eldorado, a bunch of classic and vintage car enthusiasts held the First Annual Eldorado car show, which they hope will grow into a yearly event.

Lots of cool cars there:

These last two cars were seen in the Fourth of July parade:

Celebrating the Fourth in Eldorado

Eldorado was a fun and colorful place to be on Independence Day.

Pancake breakfast, parade, party at the community center, concert at La Tienda, kids, dogs, fire trucks, decorations, lots of red white and blue. It was a perfect day.

Here are some of John's pictures:
