My hydrangea plant is still alive. This will be the third year, and we didn't think it would survive the first summer because it is so dry here and the hyrdangea loves moisture.
It's been hibernating inside all winter, and putting out new growth and is waiting the move to outside in a couple months.
I guess the woman at the florist shop knew what she was doing when my daughter requested a plant that would do well in Santa Fe's climate.

The hydrangea is lookin' good, Sharon. I used to have something of a green thumb in previous lives and REALLY miss gardening. It would be a fun thing to do in my old age.
Buck, go for it! Even living in a small space you can grow plants in pots. I find it very relaxing looking at my plants and watching their progress. And just think of getting a tomato plant to put outside your door. Tomatoes in July and August .... yummmmmmmmmmm
YEA!!! I guess since you keep in potted it has decided to thrive! That's terrific. I can't remember, did it bloom last year?
Thanks for the update on it, I think it about it every so often!
When my kids grow up I will have plants and not kill them. At least that's the plan now.
