"I think that New Mexico was the greatest experience from the outside world that I ever had. It certainly changed me forever ... The moment I saw the brilliant proud morning (sun) shine high up over the deserts of Santa Fe, something stood still in my soul." ~D.H. Lawrence

Wisdom
I post on the New Mexico forum of the City-Data website.
Today a member named GregW posted this:
"Sometimes you get to heaven without having to die first."
That struck me as profound ... and the way I feel about living in New Mexico.
(The above pictures were taken by my husband in the Jemez Mountains near Los Alamos, NM in February 2008).

As always, beautiful pictures. the different landscapes of New Mexico all in one shot. Amazin' ain't it!?
I agree: The quote IS profound. Now for my question... which you may or may not have the answer to... What's the pipe/rope looking thing running down the face of the hill in the second photo? Any idea, Sharon? It struck me as curious...
Towanda, I'm having trouble locating this: I post on the New Mexico forum of the City-Data website.

Hi cat.
Here's the City-Data Link:

It's a neat site with lots of discussion about New Mexico; as a new resident I have learned so much there.
