"I think that New Mexico was the greatest experience from the outside world that I ever had.
It certainly changed me forever ... The moment I saw the brilliant proud morning (sun) shine high up over the deserts of Santa Fe,
something stood still in my soul."
~D.H. Lawrence
I think I love your town! Your 4th reminds me of the ones we used to have back in our little town in New Hampshire. We knew everyone in the parades back there, and you soon will, too.
clair!! John and I said the very same thing!! This was like our July Fourths growing up in NY ... and in the small town we lived near San Antonio, Texas.
Except so far here we don't know anyone. BUT....people are very very friendly. Our realtors (husband and wife) were there and we watched the parade with them, which I think they did on purpose so we would be with some people we knew on our first Independence Day there.
And we saw a guy with a University of Kansas hat on(my alma mater), so we struck up a conversation with him. There are very nice people who live out here.
Dang... Jenny beat me to my comment about Santa taking some time off to come down to New Mexico for the Fourth! I suppose that's what I get for taking an internet day off...
Nice pics, and yeah... they DID remind me of Independence Days Past, too... especially in and around Ra-cha-cha.

Looks like fun! But what's with Santa Clause there? Did he get his holidays mixed up? LOL!
My husband would totally drool over that first fire truck in the parade!
Santa wished everyone a "Merry Christmas" and a "Happy Fourth of July" ... told all the kids to be good and he will be back in December. LOL
