The ruins of the mission church at Pecos

This church was built as a Spanish Catholic Mission, called Mission Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de Porciúncula de los Pecos -- in the 1600s -- to serve the people of the Pecos Pueblo.

These pictures are great! I've been struggling with finding a way to introduce the idea of a New Mexico fact-finding trip next year, given that money is still going to be a little tight.

I "accidentally" left a few windows open on my computer at home over the weekend to see what the response would be:

- Orbitz pricing for two round trip tickets to Albuquerque in Feb.
- Some listing for homes in our range in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

It worked like a charm - Mrs. DaveG cannot resist peeking at my computer when I leave it unattended.

Ya know, Sharon, if you had posted the pics without supporting narrative I'd have thought I was looking at the ruins of an Aztec or Inca temple! (I always get the two confused... pick whichever is correct)

But I suppose the adobe is a dead give-away, tho. Brilliant shots!
