A Chapter of our Life Ends

The closing on our house in Kansas was July 24. The sale went very well and quickly, and the process was fairly painless.

It was a great little house but it was just a house. What made it a home were all the wonderful memories there: birthdays and Christmases, various dogs and other pets, putting our personalities into it, having visitors and friends there, doing gardening and remodeling.

My son took these final pictures of the house before closing last week.

Good-byes are never easy, but you have a great new home and life to make things easier. Good-bye old house.

Nice home. But I think I like your new one even better (better location, too! LOL!). And you got to take those memories with you, so you got the best of everything!

Ah, been there, done that. But none of the houses I called home were lived in for longer than eight years, and that eight-year house was a HUGE anomaly... as I'd only spent three years in any one place prior to the house I'm thinking of. Still and even, I felt great sadness when moving on to the next phase and doubtless you feel the same, Sharon.

I'm with the others, though. Your new house...and new life... will likely be The Best! Congrats on putting the wraps on "things."
