"I think that New Mexico was the greatest experience from the outside world that I ever had.
It certainly changed me forever ... The moment I saw the brilliant proud morning (sun) shine high up over the deserts of Santa Fe,
something stood still in my soul."

First snow of the season at the Ski Basin
The first snow of the year fell up at the Santa Fe Ski Basin over the weekend.
Not enough for skiing yet, but it's a start, and we saw lots of enthusiastic people up at the ski area yesterday checking out the snow.
The Red River junior ski racers used to race at Santa Fe every year. Twice I can remember not being able to see my skis due to the snow storm and clouds. My son used to say that Santa Fe ski area had the highest base in the USA (not the highest mountain, but highest starting point). I don't know if this is true or not, but the drive to the ski area in deep snow is not fun.

The photos are beautiful, but you keep that snow up there in Santa Fe.
