Up in the Sangres

John and I took a drive up into the Sangre de Cristo Mountains today to check out the aspen trees and see how the fall foliage was looking.

The mountains looked just spectacular as always, but the aspens have not reached their peak color yet. John got some nice pictures anyway, and we hope to make a return trip up there next week to see if the color is even better.

I love the aspens and the blue sky picture too! I have been looking up at the mountains all week hoping I could escape up there for a couple of hours.

That is so pretty, I wish we were there to see them too! It's great seeing pictures of what you and John are seeing... gives us another view of the world! Can't wait to see you again!

Gotta agree with the others... the aspens against the cobalt-blue sky is simply breathtaking! The rest of the photos are great... but that one is stunning. Thanks, Sharon!

Gorgeous! Looks like it was a beautiful day -- but then all your pictures look like perfect weather. Do you have a special camera or is New Mexico just that perfect? tee hee

Thanks for all the comments, everyone!

The aspens and blue sky picture is my favorite too .. I've made it the wallpaper on my desktop so I can look at it often.

parts chick -- You know you can come on out ANY TIME. You too, Laurel!!!

No special camera -- just special places to take pictures of.

Patty - Welcome to my blog! I lived in San Antonio TX for nine years, and the lack of change of seasons was the hardest thing for me...I really missed the fall color, though fall was a great time in Texas.
