Abiquiu, New Mexico

We wrapped up our trip around part of northern New Mexico last week with a visit to the area around Abiquiu. I have many "favorite" parts of NM and Abiquiu is high on the list. We've been up there many times. The red rock mountains there, the Rio Chama, Abiquiu Dam -- all make for pretty breath-taking scenery.

I've enjoyed the tour! The interesting thing (to me) is we have MANY of the same pictures, taken from nearly the same vantage points. I've doled mine out over time... three years worth... at EIP (since all were taken before I began blogging); yours are more impressive, Sharon, clustered as they are in a succession of posts.

Well done!

Again with that damn blue sky that is making so pea green with envy!

Those painted mountains are crazy-gorgeous. What gorgeous scenery!

These are beautiful shots! It's pathetic how little we've seen of New Mexico since we've moved here. Once the kids are older...

Kris - you need to get out here for a visit!

Brigette - It's hard to travel around and find things kids will like to see. Luckily we have some pretty and scenic places right around Santa Fe, so it's possible to go on short rides to see things before the kids get too stir-crazy in the car!
